  • Civic Engagement: Community members are active participants in local and regional decision-making processes. North Sacramento has high rates of civic engagement, voter registration, and voter turnout.
  • Activated Spaces: North Sacramento is blight free with creative uses of vacant lots, buildings, and alleyways. Front facing patios, parklets, and well-lit storefronts show residents and visitors enjoying the community. Commercial corridors and residential areas are vibrant and full of life, enticing passersby.
  • Safety: Families and neighbors feel safe walking throughout the neighborhoods, gathering in parks, and at home. North Sacramento is a community where people look out for one another.
  • Economic Opportunity: Residents have access to meaningful employment in the area and throughout the region. With a strong “Shop Local” culture,  residents benefit from successful local businesses that provide services and goods needed in the community. These businesses attract and serve patrons from the greater Sacramento Region.
  • Housing: North Sacramento is a mixed-income community that is affordable to residents at all levels, providing quality subsidized and market-rate housing opportunities for rent and homeownership.
